About our city group
The Junior-GBM Bochum was founded by students and early-career researchers at Ruhr University Bochum with the aim of building a supportive network for students and young scientists. Our mission is to ease the transition into professional life while fostering both personal and academic development.
In the future, we plan to organise events that encourage exchange between young researchers in Bochum and North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW). Planned events will include talks, workshops, Meet-the-Prof sessions and excursions to research institutes and industry partners. These initiatives will provide valuable insights into both academic and non-academic career paths. In addition, we strive to strengthen nationwide connections through collaboration with Junior-GBM groups in other cities across Germany.
As our Junior-GBM Bochum group continues to grow, we are excited to welcome motivated students from the life sciences and related fields who would like to join us and help shape this community. Our members are a lively mix of students and young researchers who enjoy connecting over science in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. We love exchanging ideas, discussing research, and sharing experiences often alongside a good laugh:) Curiosity and enthusiasm bring us together, but it’s the sense of community and having fun that keeps us going. We believe that ony together we can create a space where science and social interaction go hand in hand.
